last a day. Join us as we debunk common makeup misconceptions and
help awaken your inner makeup goddess. By Krishna Mawani

How often do you see a beauty-related video on your Facebook account or Instagram
feed? The number of these videos has increased exponentially, as has the number of
those sharing expert makeup advice. There are at least 10 di erent ways of perfecting
smoky eyes and even more ways to contour and highlight your face. But your friends
are not beauty experts, and are sometimes misguided by what they have read or
heard. It’s time to debunk the top seven makeup myths, and learn how to perfect
               your makeup routine.

Myth 1: Makeup causes skin problems

So many out there are under the false impression that makeup harms our skin. That is a myth!
Makeup actually protects our skin from pollution, with several cosmetic brands providing genuine
skincare bene ts. It is not makeup that causes skin problems, but rather the lack of proper care and
bad hygiene that does. There are certain dos and don’ts that you need to follow religiously to avoid
breakouts and bad skin. Gently wipe o makeup every night and rinse your face with warm water and
a creamy cleanser. Make sure your face is clean before applying makeup. Take proper care of your
makeup; poor storage and lack of cleanliness can cause bacteria to seep into your makeup, causing
                                           harsh reactions and skin irritation.

Myth 2: All natural products are safe

The increase in organic and natural beauty products on the market has been
phenomenal. The end goal of ridding harmful chemicals from our body seems
nearer, but these products aren’t always safe. A speci c ingredient in the product
might cause an allergic reaction to your skin or lead to discomfort. Be careful
and consult a dermatologist to learn about your body’s needs and wants.
Treat your body to a product that will suit and improve it.
