Lisbon itself o ers such a dynamic array of hilltop Miradours that
provide splendid panoramic views of the Tagus River and the city, as
well as narrow streets and city blocks cut through by steep staircases.
You will catch yourself admiring this seductive and romantic city as
you wander and lose yourself in the alleyways. Belém, a picturesque
district and harbour located just on the outskirts of Lisbon, is not to be
missed as well. Make sure to pay a visit to the famous Pastéis de Belém,
a pastry shop that serves up the best egg tarts in town. Be prepared to
wait in a 30-minute queue though. Every bite is worth the wait, and if you
think buying two of these eggs tarts will satisfy your craving, think again.
Past Belem lies the coastal town of Cascais, a cosmopolitan suburb
of the Portuguese capital. Rent a bicycle and cycle along the coast to
discover this vast district. The Palace of Sintra

                 ALGARVE

The southern coastline of Portugal, commonly known as the
Algarve region, receives much attention for its breathtaking cli s,
sun-kissed beaches and its mesmerising caves. Aside from
wasting away your days on the beautiful beaches of Dona Ana
in Lagos, or sipping cocktails at the Algar Seco rock formations
while taking in the sunset, it is possible to hike directly along
the coastal cli s from Carveoiro beach to Praia de Marinha.
The entire stretch is approximately 11 kilometres and is worth
every step on this nature trail. If you want to feel completely
disconnected from civilization while experiencing some of the
most authentic views, I highly recommend it. Along the way, you
