LA SCALA’S NEW CHEF AND
CONCEPT
La Scala, The Sukhothai Bangkok’s Italian restaurant, has
welcomed a new chef, Jean-Jacques Vu, previously from Marso
& Co.in Paris, who is renowned for his expertise in Mediterranean
Italian cuisine. With over six years of experience, Chef Vu’s
culinary journey began in France, influenced by his family’s
gastronomic tradition, including his father’s role as the private chef
for Vietnamese President Le Duc Anh. Thrilled to join La Scala,
Chef Vu’s culinary philosophy is “deeply rooted in tradition yet
infused with innovation.” Make sure to tuck into signature dishes
in his menu, including their flavourful Pan-seared lemon prawn
with black venere rice, spring onion, hazelnut, and bisque sauce or
their Mozza di buffala with colored tomato pesto alla genovese and
strawberry crispy parmesan to whet your appetite.

KWANN
Head over to an oasis in the middle of bustling Sukhumvit Soi 13, at the heart
of Bangkok, and tucked into NYSA Hotel. KWANN, the latest brainchild from
Kingston Hotels Group, is named after the Thai word for ‘smoke’ and true to
its name, its concept revolves around live fire, charcoal, and smoking techniques.
They’re lighting a fire under the city’s culinary landscape, bringing reimagined
classics and innovative creations, but all infused with Thai soul and drawing
from heritage recipes. Make sure to try dishes such as their Red koji glazed duck
breast or their Crab beignet paired with a fiery Southern curry sauce; as well as
