Toast to the New Year!
The start of a New Year is at its heart a fantasy of newness and clean slates. It
gives us the chance to do things di erently with more attention to purpose. In
reality, it is also one of the most challenging times of the year for many of us,
as we return from holidays and y straight into the plate-glass window of an
overfull schedule. As I speak to friends and colleagues about plans, the word
“hectic” keeps coming up. So don’t forget to take a deep breath and enjoy the
cheerful vibes as we look forward to a hopeful 2018.
Masala too ends the year on a high note, as we meet passionate and driven
Founder and Executive Design Director of ASC Interior, Anita Srisakulchawla.
A woman who isn’t afraid to take risks, Anita was able to turn her childhood
dream into a successful business venture. Read more about her
inspirational career path in our exclusive cover story, ‘On Top of Her Game,’
page 38.
It’s always wonderful to be inspired by assiduous and ambitious individuals
driving their own paths. One such example is Bangkok-born Rachpon Kalra,
more fondly known as Rajvir. Currently residing in Australia, this go-getter
is one of the few who delved into the eld of quantum computing and
nanotechnology. Tune to page 50 for an insider’s scope into ‘The Scientist.’
As we eagerly welcome the beginning of a calendar year, our careers aren’t
our only major concern. We often craft a wish list to improve our health
and meet our tness targets. So Masala highlights trends that will make
your goals more guided and enjoyable to pursue. It’s time to look forward
to a new chapter and ‘Discover six health predictions for a fabulous 2018!’
(page 72).
Happy reading and happy holidays! Keep inspiring us by pursuing exciting
endeavours in 2018. We hope you enjoy this issue as much as we enjoyed
putting it all together.
