Editor’s Note
Compassion. It is a word we often hear when it comes to religion, but it
is not a word we use often enough when it comes to discussing what
makes a business successful. Yet compassion can directly a ect the
bottom line. The Dalai Lama expressed it best when he said: “Compassion
is not religious business. It is human business.” Indeed, compassion
helps leaders be successful, it helps employees become successful and
ultimately it contributes to making companies successful.
This issue, we meet a compassionate CEO whose achievements are
attributed to his passionate motivation to help people stay healthy. That
is Vivek Dhawan’s philosophy, his driving force, as he values the welfare
of his employees, customers and the communities he serves along with
his traditional methods. Tune into our exclusive cover story, ‘Mega Value
in Health and Happiness’ on page 44, to read more about the inspirational
man behind Mega Lifesciences, a company that manufactures high-quality
prescription drugs, over-the-counter (OTC) pharmaceuticals as well as
nutritional and herbal supplements.
However, it’s not all serious in our annual men’s issue, especially in our
food-related sections. Many may think cooking a meal is a woman’s work.
But tell that to Gordon Ramsey. Or to Rishi Arora, who shares his culinary
skills with two special recipes in our ‘Home Kitchen’ feature, ‘Masala
Marinated Meals’ on page 77. Also, don’t forget to ip through our ‘Guide
To...’ section, where you can discover the unique tastes of Craft Beer – an
innovative, yet traditional brew on tap in Bangkok (page 80).
While indulging in remarkable food, one might nd the urge to
counterbalance those calories by improving your health and tness regime.
So go out and play sports, run to increase endurance, try lifting weights, eat
well and remember to get enough rest and sleep in an easy-to-follow tness
guide for men on page 72. Do check out our special ‘Motoring’ feature
as well, where we reveal what 2017 has in store, particularly with class-
conscious German cars and Japanese-made models.
Happy reading! We hope you enjoy this issue, as much as we enjoyed
putting it all together.
