After a career stint at modelling, Shivam Pawa transformed from Shivam's
a casually dressed teenager to a trendsetting young adult. Now
21 years old, this undergraduate student from Mahidol University WARDROBE ESSENTIALS
International College is always dressed to impress, and no matter
where he goes, he exudes effortless style. “After I was exposed 4
to the fashion industry, I started enjoying clothes a lot more,” he
shares. “I realised that I wanted my style to represent more of me,
so I always made sure that whenever I stepped out of the house, I
looked the part of a model. I believe that who you are is what you
should wear.” It’s no wonder that Shivam’s overall appearance is
always meticulously put together. “I won’t lie, I do take an hour to
get ready,” he says smiling. “I am quite fickle-minded, so I take a
while to pick out my stuff.”

From plain polo shirts paired with casual jeans, Shivam now 3
experiments with tight, ripped denims matched with a variety
of jackets and clean-cut accessories. He isn’t afraid to try
out vintage-style jewellery, and why not, as this simple style
staple lends an edgy and debonair appearance to his complete
ensemble. “I pierced my ears when I was 14 years old and so
I’ve always enjoyed wearing earrings,” he says. “I often wear
wristbands and rings as well.” His cutting-edge fashion sense is
not only inspired by the modelling world but also by the people
he sees on a daily basis. “I really enjoy observing people,” he
clarifies. “Whenever I like how a stranger dresses up, I sometimes
try it out and then decide whether or not I should wear it.”

He applies the same simple philosophy to his shopping

expeditions. And although he’s constantly exposed to the world 5

of brands, he has never been encouraged to don luxury names.
“You can have the most expensive or cheapest brand, but you will
only look good depending on how you portray yourself,” he says.
His recent favourite has been a Korean-style jacket he purchased
from Platinum Fashion Mall. “Honestly, I’ve never really cared for
brands. I just buy whatever I like.” And it wouldn’t matter what
brand he wore, for our stylish ‘It Guy’ has already mastered the art
of suaveness.
