Pavni
n Sanskrit, Pavni means pure. In a world where we are
unhealthily addicted to our smartphones, designer
IPhavini Kalra strives to keep her label pure and her
art form untainted. So while her clothes are trendy and
fashionable today, a Pavni creation will still be beautiful
10 years from now.
Her designs, which carry strong influences from her South
Indian heritage, are for independent, confident and forward-
thinking women. She believes that “we no longer live in a
world where Indian clothes are only worn at Indian events. A
crop top can be paired with jeans, while a jacket can be worn
over shorts and tank tops.” Additionally, Phavini believes that
her pieces are not restricted to their sets. “Every single item
is beautiful on its own, and mixing and matching them is the
only way forward for ethnic fashion.”
