LEIGH BARWELL is a creative tour
de force. As the founder of Dance Legends
Productions, Leigh leads a team of dynamic and
versatile professional dancers and aerial artists who
have performed in acts across Europe and Asia for
Weddings, Corporate Functions, Product Launches
and TV Advertisements. The team has also been
featured in films such as Shanghai with John Cusack,
as well as famous Bollywood movies including
Partner, Shortcut, Ready, Dhada and Golmaal Returns
to name a few!
The team’s success is a tribute to Leigh’s vivacity
and passion for performance which began during her
childhood in Cambridge, United Kingdom. As the great
granddaughter of Lord McNair Baron of Glennifer, one
of England’s most famous lawyers and the president of the
Court of Human Rights, Leigh had an exciting upbringing.
She is related to famous figures like Ian Fleming author of
the James Bond series, as well as actress Celia Johnson
and singer Marianne Faithfull, so it is no surprise that she
developed a creative spirit early on.
After leaving school to pursue dancing full-time, Leigh
completed a four-year diploma and graduate diploma
course at the famous Bodywork Performing Arts
School. Being immersed in the craft opened her mind
to a world of possibilities and she realised professional
performance was her true calling. After travelling the
world and winning countless awards Leigh met her
fiancé, actor Byron Gibson, who is famous for his role
in Only God Forgives with Ryan Gosling among other
appearances. He and Leigh, who is also a talented
actress, also play major roles in the upcoming British
gangster film English Dogs.
After many exciting adventures travelling the world
together, the couple decided to settle down in Thailand
where Leigh’s vibrant career in Bangkok started on the
popular show Academy Fantasia as a guest instructor
and dancer. After some time she decided to put
together her own team of professional dancers, all of
whom have incredible backgrounds appearing on shows
like Big Brother and The X Factor. Soon she found her
dream team in Dance Legends Productions! Together
they have travelled to locations like Dubai, Malaysia,
Indonesia, Nepal, Hong Kong, Macau, and Burma.
