Baking
Baking is the perfect activity that takes you into a
calming, meditative and flow-like state. Some unique
recipes to try include coffee brownies, lemon bars,
s’mores cookie cups, Oreo truffles, cinnamon roll
cookies, chocolate caramel pretzel bars, chocolate
zucchini banana bread, vanilla latte cake and Japanese
soufflé pancakes. The colours and flavours will surely
relieve your mind!
Self-care
Self-pampering is probably the best thing you can do for
yourself during a time of stress and apprehension. It can range
from getting a massage to lighting candles and catching up
with friends.
Pay attention to what causes stress or anxiety; is it outfit
alterations? Is it losing weight in time? Is it comments from
friends? Is it the thought of moving into a new house? The
awareness of the root and trigger of your stress can greatly help
you manage your emotions, especially when it is crunch-time.
So when you have a big decision to make or are experiencing
the start of a panic attack, think to yourself, “what can I
do from the B-S-S framework?” Arm yourself with these
techniques before your anxiety takes over. Always remember
that nothing diminishes anxiety faster than action!
