                The Calm Smoothie:
                An Anti-Anxiety Recipe inspired by callherhappy.com
                Ingredients
                1/4 cup of spinach           1 tbsp of flaxseed

                1 banana                     1 tsp of açai powder (optional)
                1/4 cup of frozen blueberries or    1/2 to 1 cup of almond milk
                frozen berry mix
                1/4 cup of frozen peaches

                Method to prepare
                1. Place all the ingredients in a blender, starting with softest
                    to hardest.
                2. Blend until smooth.
                3. If it doesn’t appear liquid enough, add more almond milk.

             Spinach: contains cortisol regulating magnesium and folic acid which
             can boost your mood
             Bananas: have the amino acid tryptophan, plus vitamin B6, which work

             Blueberries: consist of vitamin C and antioxidants that help protect
             and repair cells damaged by anxiety
             Peaches: are considered a natural sedative
             Flaxseed: contains omega-3 for healthy nerves

             Açai: has similar benefits to blueberries
             Almonds: contain tyrosine which stimulates feel-good hormones

                                          Lavender Lemonade

                                          There is a reason why lavender oil is commonly used in bath salts, candles,
                                          lotions and massage oils. Not only does the flower’s fragrance help us relax, but


                                          it is scientifically proven to help reduce anxiety and lower pulse rates. Lavender
                                          Lemonade is also perfect to help cool your body down after being out in the sun, or
                                          after a high-energy workout.

                                          Ingredients
                                          Your favourite sweetener
                                          1 jug of water
                                          1 drop of lavender essential oil
                                          3 to 6 lemons, based on your tastebuds and fondness for sourness (limes can be
                                          substituted for lemons)
                                          Optional: use lavender sprigs for garnish

                                          Method to prepare
                                          1. Place all the ingredients into a large jug and mix.
                                          2. Chill the jug before serving.
                                          3. Add more water or sweetener to taste.

                                          Other ways to bust anxiety with lavender essential oil is to drop a few into your bath or
                                          shower, use it with your body lotion, or diffuse lavender oil into the air at home.
