EDITING YOUR WEDDING
How about guest relations?
J A SDEEP SINGH SIDHU
30-year-old property developer and brother of the groom
If I could go back in time and edit an aspect of my brother’s
wedding, it would be…
“To have a casual mixer for the youngsters of both sides to mingle
and get to know each other.”
Why, oh why?
“It would have been an easy way for both sides to get talking, which
would have set the tone for the next few days of celebrations.
My friend did it during his wedding, and he even organised a few
games where the groom’s side competed with the bride’s crew. The
afternoon party was only two hours long, but it made it much easier
for both sides to connect, especially for international guests.”

Should you take into account the weather?
DAVE SINGH
29-year-old co-founder of Dadida, who got
married a few years ago
If I could go back in time and edit an aspect of my wedding,
it would be…
“To invite fewer people to the mehendi and haldi functions,
which took place at my residence.”
Why, oh why?
“As my wife is not Indian, we wanted her side of the family to get
a taste of what a mehendi function was like at home, so my family
organised it for them. It was really fun because our cousins got to
meet each other in an intimate and cosy setting. However, once it
started raining, people ventured inside and we were not prepared
for it. Thus, it became overcrowded.
If I had to go back, I still would like to have the bride’s family come
over for the mehendi festivities, but we should have invited fewer
people to account for the possibility of rain.”
