Should you hire a wedding planner?

If I could go back in time and edit an aspect of my wedding, it would be…
“To have a wedding planner.”

Why, oh why?
“We envisioned our wedding to be one big dance party, so we had a three-
day dance celebration, which was not easy to do on our own. I wanted to
be the least involved with the logistics during the actual occasion, but the
complete opposite occurred since we had no wedding planner.

We needed all hands on deck! I had to facilitate the hotel check-in for my
friends and family, and the icing on the cake was when I had to personally
drop off goodie bags to their hotel rooms. Although everything went as
planned, hiring a wedding planner to execute what we had in mind would
have reduced much of our stress. They would have covered all the minor
and major details, and we could have enjoyed ourselves more.”

“To change how upset I got when the decorator did not fulfil our

expectations for the sangeet party.”

Why, oh why?
“Our decorator was recommended through various sources. We were
told that she was very good, but we would have to constantly push her
to finish her work on time. After ample reassurance that she would

meet our requirements, she began the work late, and inevitably could
not deliver what we had agreed upon.

I hired her on time, was clear about my expectations and was persistent.
However, when I saw that the décor was not up to par, it affected my
mood the entire night. She was very repentant afterwards, but I wish I
had let it go a lot sooner and focused more on the love that surrounded
us throughout the wedding.”
