that affects about 50 percent of all men over the age of 60 and 80 • Temporary increased frequency of urination.

treatments for enlarged prostate, UROLIFT has emerged as a
notably minimally-invasive option, approved by the US Food and
Drug Administration (FDA) in 2013, and recently by the Thai
Food and Drug Administration in February 2024,” he explains.
He spoke to Masala further about this trailblazing procedure and
           its benefits.
           What is UROLIFT?

UROLIFT is a treatment that alleviates the symptoms of an enlarged
prostate by mechanically widening the urethra, which is constrict-
ed by the swollen prostate tissue. This procedure is particularly
appealing as it avoids traditional surgery. Under mild sedation, a
small device is inserted through the urethra to implant 4-6 tiny,
medical-grade implants that push the enlarged prostate tissue aside.
This action permanently opens up the urinary pathway, allowing
for normal urine flow. The procedure typically concludes within
30 to 60 minutes and does not involve any incisions or internal
           organ disruption.
