notably minimally-invasive option, approved by the US Food and
Drug Administration (FDA) in 2013, and recently by the Thai

He spoke to Masala further about this trailblazing procedure and
its benefits.
What is UROLIFT?
UROLIFT is a treatment that alleviates the symptoms of an enlarged
prostate by mechanically widening the urethra, which is constrict-
ed by the swollen prostate tissue. This procedure is particularly
appealing as it avoids traditional surgery. Under mild sedation, a
small device is inserted through the urethra to implant 4-6 tiny,
medical-grade implants that push the enlarged prostate tissue aside.
This action permanently opens up the urinary pathway, allowing
for normal urine flow. The procedure typically concludes within
30 to 60 minutes and does not involve any incisions or internal
organ disruption.
