THE FOUNDERS’ VISION:
A MOTHER-DAUGHTER PASSION PROJECT
PAMELA AKASHA KAUR
Designer and Healer
For Pamela, Akasha Wellness is a passion
project that combines her love for design and
healing. Drawing inspiration from her years in
Singapore, where she taught yoga in a wooden-
filled home near East Beach, she created an
environment that feels grounded and timeless.
“I’ve always loved wood – it’s warm, grounding
and essential to creating an environment that nurtures,” she shares.
Her love for natural materials shapes Akasha’s aesthetic, where
Middle Eastern carpets, baroque Indian doorways,
and Moroccan motifs create a retreat both intimate
and expansive.
Pamela’s vision extends into her work as a sound
healing instructor, kundalini yoga practitioner, and
guided meditation facilitator. “Many people tear
up during kundalini – there’s so much emotional
release,” she explains. Her goal is to create a safe
space where people feel supported enough to let
their guard down, reconnect with themselves and
find stillness.
“It’s not about touching your toes.
It’s about being soft,
slow and present – about letting go of
everything you carry so you can truly feel.”
MARISA KAUR GUTMANS
Strategist and Connector
Marisa’s role is rooted in
connection, ensuring that
Akasha’s message of care
resonates with the people it
serves. As the PR and marketing
lead, she’s focused on building a community
around mindfulness and wellness. “We intentionally keep our
classes small because too many people dilute the experience,”
she explains. Pilates, yoga, sound healing, and even private events
hosted by Akasha are done with intimacy in mind.
Marisa’s approach is about creating depth rather than chasing
growth. Inspired by Simon Sinek’s Start with Why, she ensures that
every aspect of Akasha reflects its core values. “We have to grow as
a business, but it’s always backed by our message – wellness that’s vaulted wooden ceiling and honey-hued floor add lightness and
