A Woman’s World!
If any industry should be dominated by women, it’s fashion, which is why it
remains so surprising that the top echelons are, in many ways, a boys’ club.
But that could all be changing, because there are some seriously powerful
women in fashion who can, no doubt, take things over.
Among them is an ambitious woman from our Thai-Indian community,
Sunaina Kwatra, who is making her mark in the fashion industry as the
Country Manager for Louis Vuitton India. In our exclusive feature, ‘Who Run
The World?’ on page 42, she reveals more about her challenging role and
climb to success.
For our annual women’s issue, we continue to celebrate empowering women,
just like our It Girl, Vanita Sachdev Ratnaphat. Curvy, con dent and chic, this
career-oriented mother of two loves mixing and matching out ts, all the while
pursuing a variety of di erent jobs. Her work can’t be pigeonholed as an
English teacher, make-up artist or entrepreneur. In fact, she pursues all three
paths, while nding time for the fashion scene. How does she do it all? Read
more about her on page 52 in our story, ‘Hips Don’t Lie’.
Another noteworthy tale is about four candid women who have successfully
lost weight and continue to inspire others to follow in their pursuit. Tune to
our story ‘Worth the Weight’ on page 66 to read more about their rewarding
journeys. On the entertainment front, we have a variety of articles that
celebrate womanhood. Check out the ‘Guide to…’ feature, and take your
friends on a fun night on the town by picking from our list of the ‘Best
Ladies’ Nights in Bangkok’ (page 90).
Don’t forget to browse through other sections as well, as we dedicate
this issue to women of all ages, who e ortlessly continue to pursue their
dreams. Happy reading! Let us know your thoughts on this issue by
