Can’t make the trip to Japan? Don’t worry, Hagi has you covered!
By Christy Lau
Exuding a tranquil, spa-like atmosphere, entering Hagi
at Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok
feels like stepping into a traditional Japanese house,
complete with decorative screens, paintings, artefacts
and lantern-shaped lights on the walls and ceilings.
Using mainly imported Japanese ingredients, the
restaurant focuses on serving classic Japanese cuisine.
Diners are assured of the authenticity of the food,
as Head Chef Hiroaki Yamaguchi hails from Kyoto,
and has been preparing and cooking Japanese food
for more than 36 years. Having proved his mettle at
several fi ve-star hotels in Manila, Seoul, Istanbul,
Penang and Bangkok, he now takes over the kitchen at
Hagi to continue upholding the restaurant’s reputation
for serving legitimate Japanese cuisine.
Live cooking is a main feature at Hagi The restaurant imitates a traditional
