Patient experienced that prompted you to seek
medical assistance?
I was at the beach in Hua Hin with my
friends and I was experiencing intense
pain in my abdomen. During the time,
I was feeling very uncomfortable and
I could not eat anything. So I went to a
hospital nearby and a doctor told me
that it could be an ulcer, but they would
have to investigate further and blood
tests were required. Afterwards, the
doctor said it might be a problem with
my heart. But if I went to the hospital
in Hua Hin and there was something
seriously wrong, I would have to stay
there. So I came back to Bangkok and
went straight to Dr. Davin Narula at
Sukumvit Hospital. I had a blood test
and an EKG. When Dr. Davin saw my
blood sugar and blood pressure tests
results, he said my pressure and sugar
levels were very high. He then sent me to
Dr. Nivit Kalra, a cardiologist, who told me comfortable with them because these
that I actually had a minor heart attack
and that I was fortunate to survive. In
Hua Hin I didn’t realise I was having heart
problems even though I was feeling
uncomfortable. Dr. Nivit said there was
a blockage, and I would need to have
a stent put in. After the procedure and
within a month, I lost 15 kilograms.

2. What diagnosis/treatment did
you receive?
The diagnosis was that my sugar level
and blood pressure was very high. But
that could have been because I had been
to a party with my friends who had come
from India. I was also taken to the ICU for
observation, given medication and told
to rest. I slept and then went through a
procedure for the rst stent and later
went back for the the second one. The
procedure for the second stent went
quickly and it was comparatively less
uncomfortable. I was quite aware of what
was happening.
3. How was your overall experience?
I was treated very well by the nurses,
doctors and the hospital sta .
4. Would you recommend this hospital
to your friends and family?
Yes, I would recommend Sukumvit
Hospital where there are two Indian
doctors, Dr. Davin and Dr. Nivit. Indians,
especially Punjabis, will feel very
doctors can communicate with patients
very uently in English, Punjabi and Hindi.
I highly recommend this hospital, and
more so for those aged 60 and above.
