Actor Abhay Deol initiated a serious fairness
cream debate on Facebook, where he slammed
many of our favourite A-list celebrities. He posted a
series of photos of the actors, including Shah Rukh Khan,
Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor, endorsing fairness
creams over the years. Sonam was not happy. She tweeted
to her Aisha (2010) co-actor, “I appreciate and concur with
your views and would like to know your thoughts on this as
well!” She was referring to a photo she posted of his cousin,
Esha Deol, endorsing a fairness cream herself. Abhay replied
saying it was wrong as well, and instead encouraged her to
use her power to bring this issue to the forefront. Sonam has
deleted her tweets since then.
