ReLEx SMILE stands for Refractive Lenticule Extraction
Small Incision Lenticule Extraction, a laser eye surgery
technology designed to correct myopia and astigmatism.
This technology has been developed from traditional
LASIK to offer more advantages and reduce certain
complications associated with LASIK. It is suitable for
individuals with the following vision problems:

• Myopia correction up to 1000 (-10.00 D)
• Astigmatism correction up to 500 (-5.00 D)

How is the vision correction surgery
with ReLEx SMILE performed?

ReLEx SMILE represents the latest advanced technology
using a laser called the Femtosecond Laser. An
experienced ophthalmologist separates the corneal
layers into a lens shape (Lenticule) within the cornea.
The cut lens is then removed through a small incision of
about 2-4 millimeters in the cornea to adjust the corneal
curvature to match the vision prescription. This method
results in a very small incision, leading to fast healing, BEFORE AFTER
minimal disruption to the corneal nerves, significantly
reducing dry eye and irritation compared to traditional
LASIK. Additionally, it provides precise vision correction,
with clear vision achieved within 1-2 days, allowing
patients to resume normal activities quickly.
