WHAT’S NEXT
BOLLYWOOD?
Tom McLean presents this month's
BOLLYWOOD BLOCKBUSTERS
ANGREZI MEDIUM
Fans are rejoicing as this
long-awaited sequel to Hindi
Medium (2017) finally makes
its way to the big screen. Once
again featuring the hilariously
downbeat comedic talents of
Irrfan Khan, Angrezi Medium
sees boutique owner and
everyman Champak Bansal
(Khan) pulling every trick in
the book to secure his daughter a place in a prestigious English university. With
Champak once again on a desperate quest to secure a first-class education for his
daughter, Angrezi Medium takes the themes of the first film to a whole new level.
With hilarious culture clashes between Indian and English customs, the film is
expected to be a riotous and heartwarming comedy that delivers both laughs and
tears.
Directed by: Homi Adajania
Starring: Irrfan Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepak Dobriyal
Music by: Sachin-Jigar, Tanishk Bagchi, Vikram Montrose, Guru Randhawa

BAAGHI 3
This eagerly-anticipated third
entry into the fan-favourite
Baaghi film series is shaping
up to be a blockbusting thrill-
fest. Filled to the brim with
explosions and shootouts,
this ambitious actioner is
a spiritual successor to the
previous movies, rather
than a continuation of an
established plot, so audiences can enjoy the spectacle without having to catch up
on story details. This iteration follows Ronnie (Tiger Shroff) as he goes up against
an entire army of bad guys in the war torn streets of Syria, while on a mission
to save his brother’s life. A must-watch for those in the mood for something
exhilarating.
Directed by: Ahmed Khan
Starring: Tiger Shroff, Riteish Deshmukh, Shraddha Kapoor, Ankita Lokhande
Music by: Vishal–Shekhar, Bappi Lahiri, Tanishk Bagchi, Sachet–Parampara,
Rochak Kohli, Julius Packiam

SOORYAVANSHI
An exciting new instalment of director
Rohit Shetty’s ambitious shared
cinematic universe, Sooryavanshi has
all the hallmarks of a gritty crime
thriller, featuring characters introduced
to us in Simmba (2018). Taking a nod
from the insanely popular Avengers
series of films, it’s clear that the point
of Shetty’s Police Cinematic Universe
is to reintroduce characters and call
back to events established in previous films, to novel effect. This film sees chief of
the police force’s Anti-Terrorism Squad, DCP Veer Sooryavanshi (Akshay Kumar),
tackling crime and corruption on the streets, guns ablaze. Make sure to sit through
until the end as there’s sure to be a post-credits wink at future films.
Directed by: Rohit Shetty
Starring: Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Gulshan Grover
Music by: Himesh Reshammiya, Tanishk Bagchi, S. Thaman, Meet Bros, Lijo
George, DJ Chetas
