BOLLYWOOD

             Hindi Medium
             Starring: Irrfan Khan, Saba Qamar
             Critics Rating:
Box Office Collection: Rs 69 crores
Now some of you may argue with the placement of Hindi
Medium in the top five hits, but it is one of the year’s most
profitable movies. This film was made on a budget of Rs
22 crores and accumulated a 213 percent return on its
investment. As with any Irrfan Khan film, everyone only
had praises for this enjoyable and realistic tale on Indian
             society’s fascination with speaking English.

Special Mention: 2017 had a number of other notable films that were extremely high on their content value.
These include Bareilly Ki Barfi, Newton, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, Lipstick Under My Burkha and Secret Superstar.

                    FLOPS

             Rangoon
Starring: Kangana Ranaut, Saif Ali Khan, Shahid Kapoor
             Critics Rating:
Box Office Collection: Rs 23 crores
Award-winning director Vishal Bhardwaj’s Rangoon is a war-romance film set in pre-
independence India. The three main leads put their best foot forward but the story is
a confusing mix of war, love and deceit. Some scenes felt tedious, while some lacked
impact. The film made a loss of Rs 50 crore, while the production company, Viacom 18
Motion Pictures, lost almost their entire investment.
