Do you have any additional anti-ageing tips for us?
Onsen
Not only is Onsen a great way to unwind, but the waters are
also rich in minerals, including iron, sodium chloride, sulphur and
magnesium. Sweating from this relaxing activity is a great way
to detoxify the body as well.
Tomatoes
Lycopene is a naturally occurring chemical that gives fruits and vegetables their red colour.
It is a powerful antioxidant! Did you know that cooked tomatoes have higher lycopene than
raw tomatoes? So next time you crave them, cook them first to add more antioxidants into
your diet.
Don’t forget your proteins
As we age, we tend to lose muscle mass, and protein
helps build muscle, which will assist you in maintaining
your youthfully slim fi gure and controlling your cravings.
Additionally, eating enough protein is essential for healthy
hair, as the nutrient is a building block for stronger strands.
Green tea
Green tea is rich in polyphenols, a class of antioxidants that
counteract cell damage done by free radicals. A quick tip is
to drink your tea fresh and avoid adding water repeatedly,
as this may be one of the reasons for your constipation.
Sunscreen
We begin to sound like a broken record with sunscreen recommendations, but it really
is the most important step in every skincare routine. Most signs of ageing come from
unprotected UV exposure, and if you are living in a country with high UV index levels,
sunscreen is a must to prevent pigmented spots, freckles and wrinkles around the eyes
and lips. Invest in a good sunscreen and remember to acknowledge that your face isn’t
the only area that needs attention. Your hands and neck deserve some love too!
Sleep
We need to sleep in such a way that our face doesn’t come into contact with our
pillowcases. This is because resting on our sides and stomach can lead to the creation
of sleep lines on our foreheads and cheeks. In these positions, there is constant
pressure on our face, which over time produces unwanted sleep lines. Let’s avoid this
by sleeping on our backs.
Can it ever be too late to fi x the signs of ageing?
No, never assume this as it is better late than never, and the sooner you start, the better!
