From left to right: The family’s relaxation corner; mixing pieces together is Sonal’s favourite way of decorating
The elegant homeowner made do with the original Kallista Mansion
layout design, yet customised whatever she could. The balcony
was remodelled to be larger, as her family enjoys spending time
together outside. They also incorporated an outdoor bar for nights
when her husband’s friends come over. “I went all out with this
area,” she reaffirms. “I also enjoy reading and writing here. It is my
happy space.”
Besides the balcony, each family member finds solace in their
own rooms. Her son’s room is decorated for a true Arsenal fan.
With soccer balls under his bed, a soccer player engraved onto his
closet door and an illuminating skylight on his ceiling, the room’s
vibe is completely different from the rest of the house.
Her daughter too has her own “honeymoon suite,” as Sonal
describes. Pink upholstery and soft toys dominate her bedroom,
while a few soccer posters on the wall showcase her love for the
sport. Sonal doesn’t like setting rules or certain styles, but rather
allows her kids to be creative with their own personal space. After
all, whatever works for them, works for her. Sonal follows the same
philosophy with her housekeepers who played an integral part on
deciding the kitchen furnishings.
Further accentuating Sonal’s creativity is the living room, which
was initially interrupted by an overwhelming grey pillar, a feature
that’s evident in every unit. “I wanted to put the bar here, so I
decided to convert the pillar into a suave shelf with expensive
drinks,” she explains. The trendy counter is beneath a low lit
lighting fixture, creating a soothing ambiance that fits perfectly
with the rest of the living area. Soccer themed bedroom
